Why IDBF paddles?

IDBF (International Dragonboat Federation)has a set of rules of regulations used during races. Similarly, equipment such as paddles and boats need to comply with IDBF specifications. IDBF202a is the globally recognised standard set of specifications for racing paddles, which are recognised in all global IDBF associated and IDBF events. These paddles are made according to the most stringent specifications.

Often times, paddles, which are not to IDBF Spec 202, will be subjected to random checks and measurement before and during races. Those paddles that are marked with an IDBF Paddle Spec Licence Number, will not be subject to a measurement check. Our advice to all competitors or paddlers intending to race in international IDBF events is: If you want to be sure that a paddle is to IDBF Specification, then "look for the IDBF Licence Paddle Number or Approved Paddle Mark" when purchasing a new Racing Paddle.
